c. 2000
Entering the world months shy of the new millennium meant my career path was practically pre-determined.
I grew up in tandem with the rise of social media. With each new site that appeared, I had to have an account; I was enamored by the digital sphere. I recognized social media as a tool for promotion in high school, by encouraging the use of Twitter in my yearbook class to promote our YouTube news series. I would go on to manage online accounts in a similar way for Phi Theta Kappa at Muskegon Community College. All the while, I thought my path was politics, and the digital media world was merely a hobby.
2020 - Learning to Create at Home
In my junior year of college at Michigan State University, I made the transition to pursue media production. I focused on film and video production while also solidifying an interest in graphic design and marketing. My final semester as a Spartan was spent as a Video Production Intern for the Lucas Howard Group in Grand Rapids, MI. During my internship I worked on various video types including After Effects animations, interviews, and vlogs for the brand’s social media profiles.
As of 2022, I am a Graphics & Media Specialist for AGS Company Automotive Solutions in Muskegon, MI. I wear many hats in my current role - social media strategist, video producer, graphic designer, photographer, and copywriter to name a few. I am always seeking new and creative ways to get eyes on our brand, connect with customers, and showcase our brilliant and hardworking team. Each day is a new challenge creatively and professionally - and I absolutely love it!
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with my partner and our fur children.
